A New Entrepreneur on the Rise with LineLeap

We’re always excited to catch up with the young successes out there breaking the mold…this time we connected with the founder of LineLeap.com, a premier online ordering service and website in Orange County. At first glance, Bret McClay looks like your average Twenty Something. That is, until you sit down with him and realize he’s spent his adult life coding different herculean programs to solve problems for people and businesses…something he thinks is simple and until now, took up in his ‘spare time’. As someone who is always on the look out for everyday problems to create a solution for, we should have known it wouldn’t be long until he was out making his mark on a grand scale.
McClay was on-track after his undergrad to enroll in dental school and lead what was sure to be a stable and safe career. Of course until he had that same epiphany every entrepreneur has…you never win until your creating it for yourself. Bret served as a part-time IT technician for a local trading and brokerage house while honing his programming skills at UCI. Still as a student, he recognized the inefficiencies in the company’s business model and created a program which allowed them to complete the work they once paid 12 FTE’s to do with just his program. After having to leave the technology he built to a company that found a loophole to assume the rights, he had the entrepreneur’s epiphany.
Charged with idealism, frustration, and motivation, Bret soon found the everyday problem to funnel his energy toward while standing in line waiting for lunch. Wouldn’t it be great if you could send a text and place an order at your favorite restaurant to be ready, and paid for, by the time you arrived?? No waiting, no lines, no hassle. Well, that’s exactly what he’s brought you in LineLeap.
Now, with over 60 restaurant partners, LineLeap allows you set up your favorite orders online or mobile phone to send over to the restaurant. You’ll be sent a confirmation email/text with a number….but they know that’s difficult to remember so just give the restaurant your name and you’ll be on your way. Best yet, the service will automatically bill your credit card on file so there’s sure to be no waiting at the restaurant while your food is getting cold just so you can pay the bill. Or, assign numbers to your regular meals (there’s no shame in having a clutch dish you can eat every week or…er….everyday) so you can text the corresponding number you’ve assigned to LineLeap and they’ll take care of the rest. The system has all the fail-safes built in so you can be assured your order is going to get there…if the restaurant is closed you’re going to get a text to notify you….if the restaurant didn’t get the order the LineLeap team will be on it. So what’s it cost you to save all that time and make sure your order is hot and ready when you arrive? 50 cents for orders under $15 and nothing for larger orders.
Check it out in the upcoming months for some slick improvements…like texting in your office lunch order and letting LineLeap charge each item to separate cards. Let’s see the mooching co-worker try to skeez out of his bill now! The team just secured another round of funding so we’ll be on the lookout and eager to watch the site and service grow.
With just over a year under their belts now, R2E has to give the stamp of approval and a little YES SIR! to Mr. Bret McClay….welcome to the Entrepreneur Spotlight for taking a chance and making it happen.
