Black Friday is Here! Hot Sales Info

Ah yes, there’s no better way to burn off all those Thanksgiving calories (and help the economy) than a full day of shopping. Black Friday is famously known as the busiest shopping day of the year and falls on the day after Thanksgiving. It has served as the unofficial beginning of the Holiday season since the inception of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade…and we can’t wait for it every year! Side note – you may be surprised to find that although Black Friday is the busiest shopping day of the year with respect to customer traffic, surprisingly it is not the highest sales volume day of the year. The busiest shopping day of the year with respect to sales volume is typically the Saturday before Christmas (all of you last minute shoppers know what we’re talking about!)

So back to the point, with the turmoil in the economy and consumers looking to save every penny you can bet your last dollar that retail stores have stepped it up this year in the sales department. First on the list should be the struggling Circuit City. With over 130 stores shutting down you can expect to see attractive prices on Plasma TVs, Digital Cameras, Laptop Computers, and DVD Players. To find a list of Circuit City stores closing as of November 3rd follow this link or refer to Consumer Brands as the Biggest Loser to the Weak Economy.

Among other stores hosting great sales are Target, with GPS devices as low as $99.99 and George Foreman Jumbo Indoor Grills for $30.00. Best Buy has Kodak 8 MegaPixel Digital Cameras for $99.99, an 8 GB iPod Nano for $149.99, and DVDs starting as low as $4.99. Sports Authority has NCAA Sweatshirts starting at $14.99, 50% off all Men’s, Women’s and Kid’s shoes, and 25% off Adidas and Nike Golf Apparel. And what’s Black Friday without the crazy hours so you can pack the deals in?? Over 100 Disney stores will be opening as early as midnight on Black Friday with a wide selection of discounted items for the younger family members. Several stores (including Best Buy, Circuit City, and Dick’s Sporting Goods) will open as early as 5:00AM…which we still consider halfway crazy enough to rival those Disney nuts. Nordstrom (South Coast Plaza) and Bloomingdales (Fashion Island), two of the must-stop stores on anyone’s holiday schedule, will open at 8:00AM and close at 10:00PM and will offer numerous mark-down sales. Feel free to take our word for it- but it’s always wise to call your local store and confirm operating hours.

So this November 28th get out there and help yourself, help the economy, and welcome the Holiday season with some wallet-friendly sales! For more information and official Black Friday Ads and select store hours visit www.blackfridayhome.com.

Now, go shop and due your part as a responsible consumer to help the economy!
