Moe Ghazi does it again at CODE

Naturally, R2E spends its time sniffing out the hottest new spots for our ambitious audience and, well, we think we’ve found the big winner. CODE Restaurant and Lounge hits the scene as a power play for OC’s elite professional crowd with Vegas-style VIP treatment and everything you need on site to close the big deal… or celebrate afterwards.

At first glance, CODE looks like many other Newport restaurant/nightclubs that transform after dark. But knowing Moe (the creator and original owner of Mosun, Tentation, and Panini Café), you should be expecting so much more. Mr. Ghazi attacked the old spot of Fury with an army rich with experience from numerous other projects. The team which includesall-star manager Keith Kraus,quickly realized they would need to gut the entire bulding to get the right vibe out of the once cheesy venue. Finally here with open doors, CODE is restaurant first and club second serving an all organic menu until 12am Monday-Thursday and until 2am on weekends. The Pan-Asian and Mediterranean inspired menu boasts a 28-day aged New York Strip, Halibut Sashimi, and our favorite (and Moe’s personal creation), Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice to start. The tables are referred to as “boardrooms” where you can bring your top prospects to hash out the details of your prize deal over a lunch that is sure to impress. The restaurant is prepared to handle any request with notary, copy and other professional services all on site. Trust us, VIP Services Manager Jason Tometich, who was previously setting the standard for VIP treatment out at the Palms in Vegas, will stop at no end to take care of his regulars.

Come out again for a special happy hour menu from 3pm-7pm to take the edge off the day with $6 premium cocktails that we’re not so sure all of OC is ready for. If you’re in the mood to keep it going, stay after dinner as the lower tables are shuffled off to make room for a dance floor and as resident DJs climb up into the DJ booth to spin a mix of Top 40 and mainstream house beats. If you’re a high roller, don’t forget the Private Cocktail service where your personal hostess is armed with an electronic pad to take your orders for freshly squeezed mixers on the spot to be delivered and mixed at your own little mini bar. Try to order your standard Goose and soda and we’re sure she’ll convince you to try the fresh squeezed Lychee or Blueberry juices!
